John Denver became a star through the folk-inspired songs that he wrote, many of which are set in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born singer-songwriter who fell in adore with Colorado. Denver's songs that he sang about his adopted home state drew many tourists to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said the following: John Denver was by far one of the top musicians who was a symbol of Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fames' initial inductee, was honoured with the award in the year 2011. For many, Denver is the image of Colorado. Through my travels, I've met people who are from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform them you're from Colorado, the first words they say are Oh John Denver. Brown clarified. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career with folk bands, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff created the track in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver saw an early rendition immediately, he realized the song could be the next hit single. The song was recorded just two weeks following it was performed in Washington D.C. performance.
